About Us

Isaac-Clarke Academy of Dance (ICAD) began in London in 2003 with a small group of young children attending a ballet class. This became a firm favourite within the local community, and soon further ballet, modern and tap classes were established. Our aim was to provide an understanding, encouraging and safe environment in which children and young people were able to explore physical movement and musicality, gain self-confidence, and importantly, have fun!

When Shelley relocated to Mumbles in January 2009, with the encouragement of some lovely local mums and dads (and a toddler in tow), she restarted her classes in the village. From these very early days, ICAD has developed into a well-respected, reputable dance school as Shelley continues her mission to nurture children’s instinctive joy of movement and freedom of expression in a creative and professional environment.

The Academy offers pre-school, grade and vocational classes in the Royal Academy of Dance Ballet syllabus, the Rambert Grades Contemporary Dance syllabus, freestyle Tap classes and Silver Swans® Adult Ballet.
